Web-based Training Tools for Health and Safety (WBTTH&S) is a two-year-long project of the Lifelong learning programme and the Leonardo da Vinci programme - Transfer of Innovation. Тhe project is funded with the support of the European Commission.

The organizations involved are the following:the Spanish workers cooperative organization Confederación Española de Cooperativas de Trabajo Asociado (COCETA); the families association Associação Nacional para a Acção Familiar (ANJAF) and the development NGO Associação Portuguesa de Saúde, Higiene e Segurança no Trabalho para o Desenvolvimento e Cooperação Internacional (APSHSTDC) from Portugal; the cooperatives and mutual institute Istituto Nazionale di Formazione della Lega delle Cooperative e Mutue (Inforcoop) and the media organization Oltremodo, from Italy; the education and training enterprise from Bulgaria Balkanplan;and the Group For European Integration (GIE) from Romania.

The project, financed by the European Commission, will finish at the end of September 2015 and includes: a research phase, the development of training tools that will be accessible on the Internet, the evaluation of the tools and - at a later stage - the transfer of innovation in the services sector throughout the European Union.

Most of the organizations have already participated last year in a successful Project with similar goals in the specific sector of cleaning in offices and institutions.

According to European data, the rate of accidents in the social sector, as a domestic worker or as an assistant for elderly or sick people, is 34% higher than the EU average in other areas.

Main objectives of the project:

Cross-national research on the risks in the social service sector

Development of web-based training tools for health and safety on the workplace

Evaluation of the training tools

Transfer of innovation between the social service enterprises in the European Union

The online based training tools include eight videos plus one additional introductory video, describing the different risks at the workplace for people, working in the social service sector. There are useful guidelines and advises for health and safety.
